2nd Chance MD James Mapstone begins his blog

So after a few concerns that we may not be able to fly, the ash cloud parted for us and off we flew early Saturday morning. It now Sunday morning 0710, I woke early this morning after hitting the sack at 2100hrs which I thought was good after heading straight out to see the sights of San Fran, wow great city!  Surprisingly I feel OK, I woke up at 0530 showered and shaved and thought I should start the blog whilst my room mate was sound asleep!

Today we are finding our bearings and going down to have a look at the Delancey Street Foundation so that we know where we’re going first thing tomorrow morning. Really looking forward to see how the project works and hope to take a lot of ideas and best practice back home with me. Yesterday was mental, we unpacked, showered and went out mid afternoon. All the bars had singers, blues bands, street performers etc. It’s extremely busy down here and mostly full of Americans, surprise surprise! We met  a small handful of Brits in an Irish bar last night but that’s it so far. Im taking the camera out today so will hopefully get some good photos to send later on.

Right off for some breakfast....more tomorrow.....
