Sport Makers - get involved today!

What is Sport Makers:
Sport Makers is a key element of Sport England’s ‘Places People Play’ legacy programme. The programme will use the inspirational pull of London 2012 to recruit, train and deploy 40,000 new sports volunteers aged 16 years and over to make sport happen across the country.

These leaders and activators will organise and support hundreds of new hours of grassroots sport for adults (16+), creating new opportunities across the country. The Sport Makers will bring the Olympic and Paralympic values to life in every community and will be a highly tangible element of the London 2012 legacy.

As part of the programme each Sport Maker will be invited to a workshop, where they will receive a high quality, inspirational leadership learning programme that embeds the Olympic and Paralympic values. During the workshop each Sport Maker will think about what they can do back in their work setting.

Benefits for the Sport Maker:
This is a chance for volunteers to get involved in the London 2012 Games legacy programme at a local level, and a great time to inspire people to get involved in sport and be a bit more active. Sport Makers will receive a t-shirt and drawstring bag.
