The South West Sports Apprenticeship programme delivered by Active Communities Network and 2nd Chance Project have teamed up with Former World, Super Middleweight Boxing Champion Richie Woodhall to work with some of the young people engaged by our apprentices at the Knowle, Positive Futures Project, Project X in Bristol.
Richie works around the UK regularly engaging young people at risk of crime and anti social behaviour. Through a motivational talk Richie inspired the group at Project X about the life choices he made and the barriers he overcame to fulfil his dreams of becoming a World Champion.
In the picture on the left, James Maby, one of two apprentices working at the Postive Futures, Project X, commented; “It was great to have a former World Boxing Champion come and work with our groups. The groups responded really well to Richie and his presentation, it’s just what some of them needed to hear. I look forward to chatting about what kind of impact it had on them.”
At 2nd Chance we offer numerous apprenticeship schemes across the South West focussing on community sport. If you want to take part in a scheme or as an employer you’re thinking about taking on an apprentice, please get in touch and email Maggy or have a look at more information on the apprenticeship programmes we offer.
