Pre Apprenticeship Programme - Next start 6th Feb 2012
What is it?
This is a great opportunity to explore a career as a sports coach whilst working towards qualifications which would help you get there. It gives you the chance to build confidence when going for jobs and practical advice on employment and interview preparation.
This programme will up-skill you and give you practical experience through volunteering, which could help you access an Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership
What qualifications do you get?
• Edexcel Btec Award in Work Skills Level 1
• Functional Skills English Level 1
• Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership
• 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure & Learning
When and where
The course lasts 8 weeks and is delivered Mon, Tue & Wed from 9.45 – 2.15pm
It will run out of The Park, Knowle West in the classroom above the Sports Hall
What will it be like?
Although qualifications will be delivered in the classroom the sessions will be fun, interactive and very practical with the emphasis on delivering and playing sport. You will also be expected to put your skills into practice and help deliver activities in the community.
How old do I need to be?
The programme is for 16-18s who are not in education but there is also a limited amount of places for 19-24 year olds if you register quickly
